If you have listened to our 2016 Flower and Garden podcast, you already know this is the event we look forward to every year. This year is no exception.
On President’s Day we escaped for the day to Disney. It was the last day of the Epcot’s Festival of the Arts and they were already moving in the flowers. On the ride home I hunted through social media and the DisneyParks Blog for any and all information I could find on this years festival.
For a week I had nothing else on my Disney brain. I made a list of my must have for the Outdoor Kitchens. I found my Pooh Bee ears which will be perfect when we do Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration scavenger hunt.
And that’s when it happened. The post I have been waiting for… Festival Merchandise was released.
AHHHHHHHHH!!! JUST SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!
Every time we visit Disney I try very hard not to spend an entire paycheck on merchandise. Most of the time (unless it’s a race weekend) we are very successful. But it’s getting harder and harder as each Flower and Garden festival is announced. This year is no exception. Thank goodness it’s Tax Return season?
I have to give a “standing O” to the event product developers and the talented art team that created this line of merchandise. They definitely captured a fresh new perspective for this festivals 25th year creating on-trend merchandise I would love to make mine. Long gone are the days of just regular cut t-shirts. Yes, sir. The ladies shirts now offer many different styles and of course a festival version of the Spirit Jersey that is taking the parks by storm.
Recently my inner DisNerd has been feeling very adventurous. You know… as in Adventureland. Anything that has Tiki Birds, Dole Whips, and Orange Bird catches my eye and that Orange Bird shirt definitely caught mine. I am most positive that Maryann will be adding that Passholder Figment shirt to her collection.
We don’t splurge on specialty Magic Bands often. In fact the only specialty one I own is my RunDisney band. My daughter is a different story. Her first one was the 2015 Flower and Garden “Frozen Fever – Elsa” band. She loves that thing and I would be lying if I didn’t say I wish it was mine. Since then I have been searching for the right band that I wouldn’t mind sporting for the next few years. This year they have 3 different festival bands available for purchase and I wouldn’t mind at all if we purchased all three.
I am also in LOVE with the Festival Minnie Alex and Ani bracelet. As someone who doesn’t wear jewelry on a regular basis, I am very particular to what jewelry I purchase. I only have one other Alex and Ani (Yoda – Do or Do not, there is no try) and I would love to make that Minnie at home on my wrist.
Back in 2015, I had to convince myself that each time I saw it, that adorable Flower and Garden Festival (black and white bicycle) Dooney and Burke purse was something I didn’t need. It wasn’t until our third visit (as in 3 separate months) as I stood there gazing at it like a child looking at a toy shop window that my husband said “Just get it!” I guess seeing a pregnant lady drooling over a purse was what did it. Still I rationalized the purchase with my Mother in Law. It would act as my Mothers Day gift and a bag that is big enough to use as a diaper bag. I have used that purse almost every single day since. I love it! Since then I have added the Star Wars Dooney And Burke (runDisney – 2016 Dark Side) wristlet. It acts as my wallet. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t dreaming about adding either one of the Minnie wristlets. The colors are so cute and fresh. Perfect for spring and summer.
And these are just a few of the items they will have for sale during the festival. There is soooooooo much more!!!! I’m also excited to see that they have added 20+ items on the ShopDisney Parks app. Which is perfect if you want your festival gear before your trip begins (or you are unable to attend). I can’t wait for our trip in April to check out the rest of the merchandise that is available. The only hard part is making a budget and sticking to it.
Have you got your eye on any of the 2018 Flower and Garden Festival Merchandise? If so — What?
